Odette Campbell (Dubai)

Born in London to Caribbean roots and based in the Middle East for over a decade, my journey has been anything but linear. I spent years working in aviation until the 2020 pandemic grounded that path, quite literally. What began as a creative outlet during uncertain times quickly became my life's work: photography and art.

Photography grew into a thriving business, while painting remained my quiet refuge, a way to process, escape, and reflect. Since 2023, after some time creating in parallel, I found a way to merge the two.

Photography and art have always been at the heart of my creative world, two mediums through which I connect deeply to atmosphere, emotion and storytelling. When painting, I work best from reference, translating a moment already captured into something more textured, emotive, and timeless. My background as a photographer allows me to capture these reference points myself, most often while working on location at hotels. These photographs become the foundation for my paintings, allowing me to reimagine scenes with my own artistic lens and signature brushwork.

Each piece becomes an extension of the original image a layered story that honours the energy of the place and the subject.
